3 Step IT acquires BPLG’s Nordic business

Finnish lessor 3 Step IT has acquired BNP Paribas Lease Group’s subsidiaries in Sweden, Norway and Denmark, it has been announced.

The transaction, agreed at the end of January, will be completed during the first quarter of 2010. All of 38 BPLG staff will be transferred to 3 Step IT.

With the acquisition of BPLG’s Scandinavian business – including that owned by BPLG following the Fortis Lease acquisition – 3 Step IT will become the largest independent IT leasing company in the Nordic countries, the Finnish lessor said.

The lessor’s CEO Artti Aurasmaa commented: “The acquisition strongly supports our strategic growth and internationalisation process and elevates our business operations to a whole new level.

“A stronger position in Scandinavia will turn 3 Step IT into a significant European operator, which supports our growth strategy in other market areas, such as Great Britain and France,” he said.
