SG Equipment Finance also swiped the Vendor Finance Provider of the Year Award, making it a double winner in this year’s celebrations.

The Leasing Life Asset Finance Awards, sponsored exclusively by CHP Consulting, recognise the best in category from among Europe’s top leasing providers. This year’s host country, Italy, was honoured, with the Italian Lessor of the Year Award going to UniCredit Leasing.

Nordea Finance triumphed in the Innovator of the Year Award; LeasePlan was recognised in the Public Sector Lessor of the Year Award; and the Green Lessor of the Year Award was clinched by De Lage Landen. German print group Heidelberg bagged the Captive Finance Provider of the Year Award.

The finalists in each category were hotly debated by a panel of independent judges who picked out the winners based on submissions made against the category criteria.

SGEF was recognised as a European leader for its "strategy and business stamina", and in the vendor category for its "consistent, broad range of funding".

SME champion Investec won praise in a competitive field for its "impressive current year increase in net receivables", for a "willingness to take a risk in the sector", and for its "customer handling".

Green winner DLL demonstrated "commitment to green technology and corporate social responsibility", as well as having "good products".

The Italian category winner, UniCredit Leasing, was awarded for its "depth of leadership, strength of focus, and empathy with markets".

In another tight-run category, Nordea Finance clinched the innovator award for its "good growth plan, resistance to recession and web based services for car finance".

Public sector winner LeasePlan shone for its "good work with government, engaging influencers, and for committed resource and intelligence". Heidelberg impressed the judges in the captive category with "consistency of approach, and strong, specialist market knowledge".
