Used van values still increasing, says BCA

Britain’s used van values increased 2.7 percent in December 2009, according to the latest figures from British Car Auctions (BCA).

Average values increased from £3,902 to £4,008, establishing a new high point for light commercial vehicles, the auction house said.

Average values were up almost £1,000 compared with January 2009.

Duncan Ward, head of BCA’s commercial vehicle sales, said: “2009 has recovered all of the ground lost in 2008 and a little bit more.”

“With small businesses being significant buyers in the used commercial market, this suggests that confidence is returning to the SME sector,” he added.
