Prepaid in Europe: Mapping out the future
Day One of Europe's biggest prepaid conference
kicked off on 10 October in Milan - and VRL's video news team,
working with MasterCard, was on hand to pick up insights into some
of the day's best stories.
Innovation featured heavily on the first day, with the agenda
spanning mobile and contactless as well as exclusive consumer
research.

MasterCard's head of prepaid for Europe, Matthew Lanford, was on
hand to ask TNS Italia's director of business Stefano Carlin about
TNS's new research that shows a huge opportunity in the mobile
payments market.
Lanford also interviewed UKash's marketing director Paul Coxhill
about new and exclusive consumer research by UKash and Aktif Bank's
managing director of retail, Tarik Onat, about the future of
prepaid in Turkey, where Aktif Bank runs a successful prepaid city
card.

Day Two of Europe’s biggest prepaid conference
continued to tackle the hottest topics from regulation through to
the democratising effects of prepaid to micropayments and
mobile.
VRL’s video news team, working with
MasterCard, interviewed key speakers to unravel some of the key
insights from the coference.
In an exclusive interview, MasterCard’s head
of prepaid for Europe, Matthew Lanford, quizzed the group chief
executive of mobile network operator Lyca Group, Milind Kangle,
about the company’s plans to enter the prepaid remittance
market.
Lanford also interviewed:
Catherine Moore, who leads JP Morgan’s
corporate prepaid business for Europe, Asia and Latin America;
Luca Doninotti, head of prepaid for PayPal in
Europe; and
Alessandra Grassi, MasterCard sector expert
for e-commerce.
